C-nario, a global provider of digital signage software solutions, recently announced its support for the Intel Core i7 Processor and the Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 2011 platform by basing a new digital signage solution on these innovative technologies.
C-nario demonstrated its new digital signage solution at Intel’s booth at the 2010 National Retail Federation’s (NRF) 99th Annual Convention and Expo held in New York, Jan. 11-12.
The Intel Core i7 Processor is the company’s first 32 nanometer processor that integrates graphics right into the processor’s package, according to the company. This next-generation platform powering high-end, high-performance systems is validated with the Windows 7-based Windows Embedded Standard 2011, said the company.
Windows Embedded Standard 2011 provides original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in retail, hospitality and other markets with Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows Touch and other Microsoft technologies to deliver immersive user experiences and extend existing investments in technology management and infrastructure to specialized devices, said the company.
Using these technologies, C-nario demonstrated a high-impact video wall based on C-nario Messenger. This enables the display of 12 high-definition channels (each having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels) using a single PC, said the company. Using Intel Core i7 processors, C-nario dramatically decreased the number of computers required to drive a video wall, thereby providing energy and cost savings to customers, according to the company.
In addition, the multiple output digital signage player can drive multiple discrete digital signage channels, with each including full high-definition video and additional layers, said the company. The video wall comprises 12 thin bezel full HD Samsung screens, said the company.
C-nario’s digital signage platform supports multiple displays and projectors, treating any number of screens as one “canvas,” while maintaining pixel-perfect accuracy and complete synchronization between screens, said the company. When the number of required displays exceeds the number of displays a single computer can drive, multiple computers can be cascaded to create any size canvas.
“Our exhibit features the latest innovations from C-nario to help our customers meet increasing demands for performance, while maintaining Total Cost of Ownership (TCO),” said Yael Elstein, vice president of marketing at C-nario, Tel Aviv, Israel. “The combination of C-nario platform with Intel and Microsoft products delivers exceptional performance and further positions C-nario as a leader in utilizing the latest technologies.”
