Premier Retail Networks Inc. (PRN), a digital out-of-home media solutions provider, and Associated Food Stores Inc., a grocery wholesaler headquartered in Salt Lake City, have announced a new multi-year agreement to continue the operation of PRN’s Checkout TV Network in Associated Food’s newly acquired Fresh Market stores.
According to the agreement, PRN will become Associated Food Stores’ preferred vendor for in-store electronic media.
“Associated Food Stores’ decision is a strong endorsement of the value Checkout TV Network continues to deliver to shoppers and advertisers,” said Chuck Billups, vice president of retailer development for San Francisco-based PRN. “We look forward to more opportunities to work together as Associated Food Stores’ preferred partner for future digital products for the retail environment.”
Associated Food Stores recently purchased 34 Albertsons stores throughout Utah from SUPERVALU, with whom PRN has had a long-term relationship. Associated Food Stores is rebranding these stores as Fresh Market.
“Because our customers are our top priority, we wanted a way to inform them about upcoming promotions and product specials in a way that would add to their shopping experience at Fresh Market, their locally owned neighborhood grocer — which PRN’s Checkout TV Network provides,” said Dick King, president of Fresh Market.
With an average of two visits per week and a wait time of five minutes in the checkout line, PRN’s Checkout TV Network offers marketers a forum for engaging shoppers about products and services available both inside and outside the supermarket, the company said. PRN’s Checkout TV Network is now in the following retailers: Acme Markets, Albertsons, Fresh Market, Jewel-Osco, Pathmark, Shaw’s Star Market, ShopRite and Walmart Stores.
